I Was Made To Love

I was made to love

a woman who was made to love a man like me.

Not the perfect version.

Not the polished one for public display.

But the one with edge,

with weight on his shoulders,

with lessons carved into his character.

Through the aggression I've learned to soften,

through the imperfections I refuse to run from,

through her beautiful tendencies

that don't need fixing, just understanding.

I was created to be her balance.

She was created to be my grounding.

Not a debate about 50/50,

but an agreement to lift what's heavy

without keeping score.

When she's made to be soft,

I don't harden her,

I meet her there.

When her passion spills over,

I don't match the fire,

I become the calm that reminds her she's safe.

When tension rises,

I don't turn into opposition.

I turn into peace.

Not silence,

presence.

We weather storms without making each other the enemy.

Quick to love deeper.

Slow to react reckless.

Because we've both lived enough life.

Enough pain that had nothing to do with love.

Enough heartbreaks.

Enough trust mishandled by people

who didn't know how to hold us.

So I make it safe.

Not with promises,

but with consistency.

With patience.

With showing up the same on calm days

and hard ones.

I was made to love a woman

who was made to love a man like me,

one who protects peace,

chooses understanding,

and loves with intention.

Not loudly.

Not perfectly.

But fully.
